Within a few years, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. Plastic doesn’t belong in the ocean. If we don’t do anything, it will be the only “animal species” left. To visualize this, Daphne Persoon created an interdisciplinary way of introducing the plastic species using visual illusion. She made an encyclopedia for ‘The Plastic Species’. She replaced and linked animals with a rich life cycle with a single-use plastic with a useless & infinite existence. How you look at the images affects what you see and how you behave. What you can’t see, doesn’t exist.
